This is an opportunity to play a key role and be an important part of our Fabrication Shop in Shelton, WA.

About The Position
• Lead, direct, and coordinate tasks and responsibilities of controls team
• Assure safe workplace practices are followed and promote safety awareness through leading by example
• Plan, lead, and coordinate new equipment installations and optimization of machinery: and troubleshoot needed improvements on existing equipment
• Identify and take initiative to implement appropriate process improvements
• Effectively manage scheduling, materials, team, and priorities
• Design control systems used in high performance machines
• Program and tune multiple axis of motion control
• Program and debug PLC’s and HMI’s
• Provide effective training in maintenance and operation of equipment
• Efficiently manage multiple projects and processes within expected timelines
• Work in conjunction with mill personnel, managers, and fabrication team for effective task completion
• Some travel to other Sierra Pacific locations in Washington, Oregon, and California

• 3 years of experience as controls engineer or equivalent
• 1 years of experience in wood products manufacturing or related field
• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team
• AutoCAD proficiency a plus
• Skillfully manage time and shifting priorities under demanding circumstances
• Capable of formulating creative solutions to complex problems
• Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and reasoning skills
